Daelim Central Market and Muraye Creative Village
In Daelim 2-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, there is Daelim Central Market. It is more known as 'Chinatown in Seoul' when it appeared as a background of 'Crime Cities'. As Chinese workers working in the nearby Guro industrial complex gathered in the Daelim-dong area, the Chinese streets naturally formed and in the market, Chinese dumplings, sausages and Yanbian sundae attract extraordinary attention.
The place to visit with a visit to the food center of Daelim Central Market is Muraye Creative Village. In the early and mid-200s, rents of Daehakro and Hongdae area moved, and young artists moved to Mullae-dong where iron works were concentrated, and an artist village was formed naturally. The maze-like alley creates a unique atmosphere with a mix of old ironworks, art workshops, trendy teahouses and restaurants.
